Job Overview
The Director of Finance plays a crucial role in overseeing the financial health of the organization. This leadership position is responsible for developing financial strategies, managing financial risks, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate will have a background previously working for a construction company handling all accounting and financial needs. Must be a strategic thinker and be comfortable handling financial presentations.
Duties
Oversee and manage the financial operations, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Prepare and analyze financial statements and present insights to senior management.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.
Manage cash flow, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll processing.
Coordinate external audits and manage relationships with auditors and financial institutions.
Lead the finance team, including the Accountant and Purchasing Manager, ensuring efficiency and accountability.
Support strategic decision-making by providing financial data and recommendations.
Optimize financial systems and software for streamlined operations.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or related field
CPA or CMA is preferred but not required
Must have a minimum of 7 years in financial management with priority given to manufacturing or construction industry experience
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting and tax regulations
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Must have strong analytical, leadership and communication ability
