Job Description
We are actively recruiting for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic in Dothan, AL. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and inspection of heavy machinery and equipment used in roofing operations. This position will be working in a shop environment and traveling to job sites.
This position offers a salary ranging between $55,000 - $65,000 per year and will be working a Monday-Friday daytime schedule. Travel may be required.
Job Description:
Perform regular maintenance tasks, diagnose issues, and repair heavy equipment. This includes but is not limited to cranes, excavators, bulldozers, forklifts, and other specialized roofing machinery.
Conduct thorough inspections to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems. Use diagnostic tools and techniques to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement effective repair solutions.
Coordinate with the procurement team to order necessary parts, supplies, and tools. Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts and equipment components. Monitor stock levels and identify when replacements are required.
Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and inspections. Update maintenance logs, service reports, and equipment documentation as required. Document parts usage, repair costs, and equipment performance data.
Skills Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Certification or formal training in heavy equipment maintenance and repair is preferred.
Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, preferably in the roofing industry or a related field.
In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in heavy machinery.
Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment issues.
Strong understanding of preventive maintenance practices and procedures.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
