Job Description

We are immediately hiring for an Assistant Branch Manager to support daily branch operations, drive growth in loans and deposits, and ensure exceptional customer service for a financial institution in the Wiregrass Area. This role involves overseeing branch staff, managing operational activities, and helping to meet financial goals. The Assistant Branch Manager will also handle customer inquiries, promote bank products and services, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Branch Management & Operations:
  • Assist in achieving annual loan and deposit goals, with a focus on increasing demand deposits.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including balancing currency, verifying checks, and processing customer transactions.
  • Manage branch cash flow and order supplies as needed.
  • Ensure all branch operations comply with internal policies, security guidelines, and applicable laws.

Customer Service & Sales:
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and promoting banking products like savings accounts, loans, and services.
  • Actively seek referrals for financial services, mortgages, and merchant services.
  • Conduct client outreach to expand existing relationships and attract new business.

Team Leadership:
  • Supervise, mentor, and train tellers, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to policies.
  • Assist in hiring, evaluating performance, and recommending promotions.
  • Provide leadership in disciplinary matters when needed.

Loan Portfolio Management:
  • Manage personal loan portfolios, including tracking exceptions, insurance, fees, and overdue accounts.
  • Handle loan applications, credit investigations, and loan closings.
  • Monitor past dues and charge-offs, working to maintain a healthy loan portfolio.

Community Engagement & Business Development:
  • Represent the bank in local community organizations and networking opportunities.
  • Work closely with the management team to identify and pursue business development opportunities.
  • Provide market insights and competitive intelligence to guide branch strategy.

Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of banking experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of branch operations, financial products, and customer service best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage a personal loan portfolio and work with clients to achieve financial goals.
  • Strong attention to detail and compliance with banking regulations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with a team.
