Job Description
The CNC Operator will operate equipment according to established procedures in a safe and quality manner. Dimensional measurements will be required during the operation of equipment to assure compliance to requirements. Adjustments to the equipment will be executed during the operation of equipment to meet established run rates and part accuracy. This involves performing First Piece Inspection and continuous Quality activities. Equipment will include Mills, Lathes, CNC’s and screw machines.
Pay Range -$21.75- $38
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Implement and sustain S, Q, D, C, I activities
• Develop, sustain and improve CNC machine tool methods and procedures
• Assist tool selection in the development and implementation of fixtures for new product development
• Develop standard work, tool setup sheets, and standard operations for production jobs
• Troubleshoot various problems (improper tooling, dull tools, wrong location of machined feature, code errors, etc.) and develop corrective action to prevent reoccurrence
• Perform Quality Assurance activities while operating equipment (Optical systems, calipers, gages, indicators)
• Participate in Productive Maintenance activity
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. • Interpret technical prints (GD&T)
• Must have basic knowledge of CNC machine “G-Code” and troubleshooting skills
• Experience maintaining and changing tools
• Experience determining offsets and adjusting accordingly
• Interpret Work Orders and enter data into the Manufacturing database (ERP)
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required:
• High School Diploma or GED
Preferred:
• Minimum 1 year of experience in machining or related mechanical field
• Vocational/Technical Degree
• Lean manufacturing experience
• Kaizen event experience
• 5S knowledge and experience
