Job Description
We are seeking a Certified Medical Biller/Coder to join a remote team for a company based in Enterprise, AL. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately reviewing patient records, assigning codes to diagnoses and procedures, and ensuring that insurance claims are properly processed and paid. Your attention to detail, knowledge of medical terminology, and understanding of insurance protocols will help maintain the financial health of the organization and enhance the overall healthcare experience for the patients.

Key Responsibilities:
- Medical Coding: Accurately assign ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes to diagnoses and medical procedures in accordance with the latest coding standards and payer-specific guidelines.
- Billing & Claims Submission: Process and submit insurance claims, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and claims are submitted on time to avoid delays in payment.
- Claim Follow-Up: Track and resolve any claim denials or rejections by working directly with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients.
- Compliance: Stay updated on coding changes, federal regulations, and insurance policies to ensure all claims are compliant with the latest industry standards and laws.
- Patient Records & Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records and assist in the collection of necessary documentation for claims processing and compliance audits.
- Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, other healthcare professionals, and insurance companies to resolve coding and billing issues, ensuring an optimal billing process for all parties involved.
Qualifications:
- Certification Required: CPC (Certified Professional Coder), CCS (Certified Coding Specialist), or another recognized medical coding certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of experience in medical billing and coding, preferably in a remote or virtual capacity.
- Strong Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, HIPAA, and other medical coding/billing practices.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail, especially when reviewing patient records and submitting accurate claims.
- Technology Savvy: Familiarity with billing software, electronic health record (EHR) systems, and medical coding platforms.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively liaise with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a remote work environment.
