Job Description
We are seeking a motivated, organized, and goal-oriented Collections Specialist to join our fast-paced Collections Division. This position is responsible for managing a portfolio of delinquent accounts, communicating with debtors and clients, obtaining payments, and negotiating payment arrangements.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain a large portfolio of accounts.
- Contact debtors to collect outstanding balances and negotiate payment arrangements.
- Follow up consistently to move accounts toward resolution.
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and client inquiries.
- Maintain accurate account records and documentation.
- Multitask and prioritize competing responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Meet monthly collection and performance goals.
Qualifications
- Strong work ethic and self-motivated attitude.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable communicating respectfully and assertively with debtors.
- Basic reading and math skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Windows, and Outlook.
- Typing speed of at least 25 WPM.
- Previous collections, medical billing, A/R, or sales experience preferred.
- Familiarity with civil litigation is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- $16-$18/hour, pay based on experience
