Job Description
We are seeking a Community Education Specialist to develop and facilitate child abuse and domestic violence prevention programs throughout the Wiregrass area.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and present prevention programs in schools and community organizations.
- Facilitate Erin’s Law, Blue Ribbon Week, Mandatory Reporting, and Multidisciplinary Team trainings.
- Develop educational materials, workshops, and community outreach programs.
- Build partnerships with schools, colleges, universities, and community agencies.
- Assist with grants, budgets, reports, and program development.
- Participate in community events, health fairs, and public speaking engagements.
- Provide clinical intake/support as needed.
- Maintain accurate program and activity records.
- Work collaboratively with organizational leadership and staff.
- Work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings or weekends.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Education, or a related field.
- Master’s degree preferred in Education, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
- Knowledge of child sexual abuse and the judicial system preferred.
- Strong communication and public speaking skills.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with community education, child abuse prevention, social services, or grant programs is a plus.
- Must be flexible and committed to promoting child safety and prevention.
