Job Description
The Fleet Service Coordinator supports the Director of Fleet Maintenance by coordinating fleet maintenance activities, responding to driver breakdowns, maintaining fleet records, and helping ensure fleet safety and DOT compliance. This position also assists with vendor coordination, preventive maintenance scheduling, and fleet management systems.
Essential Responsibilities
- Coordinate preventive maintenance for all fleet vehicles.
- Manage roadside breakdowns, repairs, towing, and driver accommodations.
- Monitor fleet activity, utilization, and fuel usage through Fleetmatics.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and fleet documentation.
- Track fleet equipment and assist with fleet asset management.
- Communicate with drivers, vendors, and internal teams to resolve maintenance issues.
- Support DOT compliance and company fleet policies.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business, or a related field.
- Two or more years of fleet management, transportation, or related experience.
- Experience with Fleetmatics or similar fleet management software.
Working Conditions
- Primarily office environment with occasional outdoor work around fleet equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Occasional evening, weekend, and after-hours availability may be required.
