Job Description

We’re looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Night Superintendent to oversee fermentation and dryer operations at a facility in Headland, AL. In this key role, you’ll ensure the production of high-quality, consistent products while managing personnel, equipment, and inventory. You’ll work closely with production staff and management to maintain safety standards, optimize processes, and ensure a smooth and efficient operation.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise fermentation and dryer departments, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
Coach employees on safety culture, collaborate with the safety committee, and lead safety improvements.
Monitor product quality data, adjust processes as needed, and ensure compliance with technical specifications.
Provide motivation, guidance, and training to employees, ensuring their development and compliance with production procedures.
Work with day-shift management to track performance, resolve issues, and maintain effective production.
Partner with maintenance teams to coordinate work orders, track progress, and manage material usage.
Complete monthly production reports, address ERP batch reporting issues, and monitor production performance.
Ensure cleanliness and safety of the facility, conducting daily inspections.

Qualifications:

3-5 years in fermentation or bioprocessing (or related field). Strong knowledge of chemistry, microbiology, and math is essential.
3-5 years of people management experience preferred, with the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), with SAP experience a plus. Lean experience is a bonus.
Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Bioprocess), or 5+ years in production management.
