The Director of Procurement will oversee all procurement activities related to raw materials essential to manufacturing. This includes steel, lumber, hardware, and other components. This role is responsible for managing a small team (3–4 employees), optimizing vendor relationships, and ensuring effective use of our ERP system to track procurement, inventory, and cost control. This position offers a Monday- Friday 8-5 schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the procurement team to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of all raw materials.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with production and budgetary goals.
• Negotiate contracts and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Monitor inventory levels and work closely with operations to maintain material flow and minimize disruptions.
• Use ERP software to manage purchase orders, track material usage, and analyze cost data.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
• Report on procurement KPIs and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or materials management—preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years in a leadership or management role.
• Strong knowledge of raw materials relevant to industrial equipment manufacturing.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Epicor, Syspro or similar).
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field (MBA a plus)preferred.
