Job Description
Personnel Resources has a client that is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Part Time Medical Biller and Coder to join their team. As a Part Time Medical Biller and Coder, you will be responsible for accurately coding and billing medical procedures and services. Your expertise in medical terminology, coding systems, and billing processes will be essential in ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement for our healthcare providers.
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze medical records to identify procedures and services provided
- Assign appropriate medical codes (ICD-10, ICD-9, CPT) to ensure accurate billing
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for procedures
- Submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by mail
- Follow up on unpaid claims and denials to ensure proper reimbursement
- Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers regarding billing inquiries and disputes
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Stay up-to-date with changes in coding systems, billing regulations, and insurance requirements
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Medical Biller or similar role
- CPT coding experience is required
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures
- Proficient in using medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Hours:3 days a week - 8am-5pm#cl
