Job Description
The School Nurse plays a vital role in promoting the health and well-being of students within the school environment. This position involves providing direct nursing care, managing health records, and ensuring compliance with health regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and a passion for working with children and adolescents in an educational setting. This position may be an LPN or RN. This position is based in Houston County, Alabama and work hours will be Monday-Friday 8:30am-12:30pm.Duties
- Provide nursing care to students
- Document all activities and communicate as needed
- Ensure all protocol and activities are followed and reported according to state standards
- Serve as the health liaison between school, healthcare provider, family and community
- Strong knowledge of physiology and medical terminology relevant to school-aged children.
- Active Alabama Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse Certification
- Proficiency in IV insertion techniques and experience administering injections.
- Familiarity with medical documentation practices and HIPAA compliance.
- Ability to work effectively within a school setting, demonstrating compassion and patience with students.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff members.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently within a busy school environment.
