Production Supervisor
Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated Production Supervisor to lead shift operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for overseeing production activities, ensuring employee safety, maintaining product quality, and supervising production personnel to meet operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and coordinate production, warehousing, distribution, and shipping activities during assigned shifts.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.
- Monitor production performance and implement improvements to enhance productivity and quality.
- Maintain housekeeping standards throughout the facility.
- Train, schedule, assign, and supervise hourly production employees.
- Conduct performance evaluations, address employee concerns, and support positive employee relations.
- Investigate and resolve operational and personnel issues in a timely manner.
- Complete production reports and administrative tasks accurately and on time.
Qualifications
- Associate degree and at least 2 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, lumber, wood treating, or a related industry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret production data, safety procedures, and operating instructions.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn production reporting systems.
- CDL and forklift certification are a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work safely around manufacturing equipment and machinery.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to outdoor weather conditions, moving mechanical equipment, humidity, airborne particles, and moderate noise levels.
- This position is designated as safety-sensitive and requires strict adherence to safety procedures.
