Personnel Resources has a client with an immediate direct hire opening for a Toolmaker and Lathe/Miller Operator in Dothan, AL.
Pay will range between $48,000 - $68,000 per year based on your experience. You will work a Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm schedule. They offer a full benefits package!

Responsibilities:
- Analyze blueprints, sketches, and models to determine materials and machine requirements for part fabrication.
- Calculate dimensions, plan layouts, and establish assembly methods and operation sequences.
- Mark and prepare metal stock for machining and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
- Inspect machined parts for conformity to specifications, ensuring proper dimensions, alignments, and clearances.
- Assemble parts and perform smoothing of surfaces for proper fit in assemblies and mechanisms.
- Heat-treat tools or parts as needed.
- Develop specifications for specialty tools based on general descriptions and create design sketches.
- Minimum 4 years experience in a toolmaker, machinist or skilled engineering role or have a Journeyman’s card.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting documents, including operating instructions and procedure manuals.
- Strong mathematical skills, including probability, statistical inference, geometry, and trigonometry.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
- Basic computer skills required.
- High school education or equivalent.
