Job Description
A Dothan building supply store is seeking a motivated Yard Supervisor to lead warehouse operations and provide excellent customer service. This is a hands-on supervisory role responsible for assisting customers with order fulfillment, training team members, and maintaining an efficient yard environment. Candidates with experience in building materials or retail environments is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support yard/warehouse employees in daily operations
- Assist customers with loading and order fulfillment
- Train and direct team members effectively
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, delivery trucks, and other yard equipment
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment
Qualifications:
- Previous supervisory experience in customer service or lumber/building materials environment preferred
- Knowledge of building materials and related tools
- Self-motivated with strong customer service skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods
- Regular lifting of up to 100 lbs. without assistance
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and outdoor work in varying weather conditions
